DMG Supports RUN! GEEK! RUN! for Move2Learn Event in Alexandria
August 30th, 2023 — Davis Management Group (DMG) joins Alexandria firms supporting area public schools and is proud to sponsor the RUN! GEEK! RUN! for Move2Learn event — a long-standing Alexandria tradition benefiting youth wellness and education. Each year, this race benefits a different Alexandria-based nonprofit. Since 2016, it has raised more than $140,000 for local beneficiaries. This year’s event will be hosted by DMG vendor partner Ironistic, a full-service marketing and web development firm. As a result, all proceeds will benefit Move2Learn.
“As a company that’s called Alexandria home for more than a decade, we’re excited to be both sponsoring and participating in this event,” says DMG founder and CEO Erika Davis. “This is an awesome opportunity for us to recognize Move2Learn and support its mission to help kids in Alexandria reach their highest potential.”
Move2Learn is an award-winning 501(c)(3) that works to level the learning field for traditionally underserved and overlooked students. Through its innovative approach, the organization provides movement-based tools and programs that promote physical activity throughout the day. In turn, these tools help prime kids’ brains for learning and keep them on task. In fact, Move2Learn has worked with Alexandria City Public Schools to support the physical, mental, and emotional development of more than 12,000 students — reaching over 800 teachers, administrators, and staff.
The RUN! GEEK! RUN! for Move2Learn event will take place on Sunday, September 24, 2023. All proceeds will go directly to Move2Learn. The race is open to participants of all ages, including experienced runners and first-time racers. Additionally, this year’s event includes a new 1-Mile Fun Run alongside the traditional 5K.
