Overview
To support the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) in facilitating meaningful engagement between federal acquisition leaders and small businesses by delivering a high-quality hybrid training conference that promotes innovation, economic inclusion, and small business participation in federal contracting.
Approach
- Delivered strategic communications and event logistics support for the two-day hybrid event held in Atlanta, GA.
- Developed branded event materials, including presentation templates, signage, and digital assets to ensure message consistency and professional visual impact across physical and virtual platforms.
- Supported planning, registration, and on-site execution to streamline the attendee experience for both in-person and virtual participants.
- Coordinated with key stakeholders to align conference messaging with small business engagement goals and HHS’s broader acquisition strategy.
Results
The Small Business National Training Conference was held from April 2-3, at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Roybal Campus – Global Communications Center in Atlanta, GA. Virtual matchmaking followed on April 4.
- 287 in-person attendees and 144 virtual attendees
- Facilitated 472 matchmaking meetings
- 58% of surveyed attendees were new potential vendors for HHS
- 1.2k livestream views resulting in OSBDU gaining 119 YouTube followers
Davis Management Group, providing event communications and logistics support, the hybrid event served as a pivotal platform for fostering collaboration between small and socio-economic businesses and the HHS acquisition community.
Discussions focused on enhancing acquisition strategies for small business utilization, and revitalizing the small business industrial base in manufacturing, knowledge-based services, and innovation.
